There were so many memorable moments that occurred at The Academy awards last night, one of my favorites being Jared Leto’s moving speech when awarded his well deserved Oscar. Jennifer Lawrence’s ever so graceful pre-show orange cone tripping incident was also a wonderful way to kick off the evening. Many of Hollywood’s leading men showcased a golden bronze look for the occasion, most likely owed to professional spray tan artists and nude, gold and navy were the trending colors of the night. Brad Pitt’s power landed him his first Oscar statue for “12 Years a Slave,” as Director Steve Mcqueen said the Best Picture would have never been made without Brad’s efforts. Host Ellen DeGeneres referred to her fellow famous friends by their nicknames for most of the night and the interaction between the celebrity audience allowed viewers to see the real side of Hollywood. It was a little slow at times but it’s always exciting to see elegance and radiance from some of the most talented people in show business.
There was a wonderful tribute to Judy Garland and The Wizard Of Oz. I spoke to Judy’s daughter Lorna Luft last year and wanted to share some of the wonderful words she told me about her mom.
