Here I am posing with leading lady Greta Gerwig of the soon to be released Fox Searchlight Film “Lola Versus.” The movie is about a woman reevaluating a lifetime’s worth of aspirations and plans after her fiance leaves her just weeks prior to their nuptials. Shot in New York City the film accurately portrays the trials and tribulations that a single woman in Manhattan endures in a present day setting. I had the pleasure of sitting down with the star whose credits include: Woody Allen’s “To Rome with Love” as well as “Greenberg” opposite funny man Ben Stiller who Greta described as a kind man and a work horse. “No one works harder than Ben Stiller.”
I asked the New York based actress where some of her favorite venues are here in the big apple and she “VALidated” an East Village restaurant serving Cuban cuisine. “Cafecito has really delicious Cuban food.”
My eVALuation of this establishment. It has absolutely been “VALidated” not only by the gorgeous Greta Gerwig but also by me “The VALidator,” herself. After consulting with Orlando (the lovely gentlemen I spoke with over the phone when I called to place my order) I went with the char grilled skirt steak with cuban chimichurri sauce and lime cured onions served with yellow rice, black beans and TERRIFIC tostones. Yummy. Keep it up Cafecito!!! And definitely go see “Lola Versus” opening June 8th.
